At Reynaers Aluminium, we are committed to ensuring that our digital services are accessible to all users, including people with disabilities. This is part of our broader effort to provide an inclusive experience in line with the European Accessibility Act (Directive 2019/882) and the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 Level AA.

Scope

This statement applies to:

Gated platforms such as the customer portal and lead zone are currently out of scope.

Accessibility Compliance Status

Reynaers Aluminium’s websites are partially compliant with WCAG 2.2 AA due to the non-compliances and limitations described below. An external accessibility audit was carried out by Leap Forward in January 2025. These audits included automated and manual testing of key user flows and representative pages.

We have developed a phased accessibility roadmap to address the identified issues, starting with priority fixes in 2025 and a shift to "accessibility by default" from 2026 onwards.

Non-Accessible Content

The following issues are currently being addressed:

  • Missing or incorrect alt text on icons and images
  • Insufficient color contrast for text, buttons, and links
  • Inaccessible video content, lacking captions or audio descriptions
  • Non-keyboard navigable elements, especially in carousels, dropdowns, and tab components
  • Improper focus order and lack of visible focus states, causing confusion for screen reader and keyboard users
  • Ambiguous or duplicated link text, such as repeated “Discover more” without clear context
  • Form validation and guidance issues, such as unclear input instructions and missing suggestions for fixing errors

We are actively updating our design system foundations and shared components to improve these areas.

Measures to Improve Accessibility

Reynaers Aluminium is taking the following measures:

  • Redesigning components and foundations with accessibility in mind
  • Training content creators and developers on accessibility standards
  • Implementing accessibility testing in our development workflow
  • Monitoring accessibility compliance through regular audits and feedback

These improvements are being rolled out progressively, with the most critical fixes scheduled for completion by the end of 2025.
